Plug Switch Stuck On. tried to switch it off but the switch is stuck so i switched off all the sockets at the fuse. use the screwdriver and pull out the screws holding the outlet in position. while it could be a failure as suggested, if it has been getting stiffer over a period of time, it could be just accumulated dust which has congealed. Tried to pull the plug. At a straight angle, pull the outlet away from the wall and the stuck plug. i have recently replaced a double socket that had a short circuit fault on the right hand socket with a new one from. sounds like a faulty faceplate switch. Best repair is to replace the faceplate. i immediately tried to turn it off at the wall and the switch will not turn off, so i just pulled the plug out. this morning the kettle wouldn't work (plugged into the right socket of a double gang) i plugged the kettle into.
